Having only a general knowledge of the events of the Berlin Olympics, I wasn't sure what to expect when I decided to stop for a visit. The museum is an inspirational and educational look into the life of this man of humble beginnings. If you go, you MUST start with the video to put Jesse Owens' accomplishments in perspective. A wonderfully articulate speaker, he provides insight into the racial and political atmosphere of the times. The rest of the museum shows his early life, rise to greatness, and his humanitarian achievements. Spend the time to take it all in.

I enjoyed the museum abd learning more about Jesse Owens. But racist, unstable people should not be working there and being combative to customers.

This person does not need to be there, and if there is a cost update tour advertisements to reflect that.

Very well organized exhibits based around old news photos. 40-minute documentary narrated by Jesse Owens w/Olympic footage really sets context. Replica of sharecropper's cabin spot on. Well worth the detour!

This woman is an volunteer and even though she works at a place honoring a Black man, felt cause I was Black I could not afford the fee because I questioned the lack of advertising for the fee.

Beautiful rural location and park with excellent exhibits featuring Jesse Owens' story in great detail. What respect I now have for Jesse and the curators.

I was surprised when I got museum that there is a $5 charge which is not listed on the site. I paid but informed volunteer by name of Pat that this needs to be listed on their site. She got nasty with me and said they will not list fee is due for entry. She got all in face started bragging about her husband and the cost they had spent on brochures which stated"donation accepted". Pat told me obviously I did not the money to spent and proceeded to start sticking her finger in my face. I told Pat if she did not back off from me there was going to be a problem. She hollered at me telling me the public can find out about the entry fee when the come. I told her this misleading and deceptive. She took money out of the register and was going to throw it at me. An employee stopped here.

This is an amazing place well worth the effort to get to! Seeing where Jesse Owens came from made me appreciate his accomplishments all the more. We had a picnic in the park then a wonderful guided tour by caring and knowledgeable volunteers. We were too old to try the long jump put out back but it's perfect for kids and teens!! I strongly recommend a visit.

Pat needs to be fired for her unprofessional attitude.
